DONTNOD has announced Life is Strange 2, the sequel to their 2015 game Life is Strange. Reportedly, the game will feature a new cast and be in some way related to their free demo The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, which came out this June. DONTNOD announced very early in development that the next installment would not feature Max and Chloe, so it's no surprise that the narrative for Life is Strange 2 is so distinct from the first game. You can read more about that decision, and about the story in Life is Strange 2, here.
Life is Strange 2 will follow the story of Sean and Daniel, brothers on the run from Seattle to Mexico. You play as the older brother and must guide the development of Daniel as you come to terms with your new status as outcasts. The game will explore telekinesis, rather than time travel, and uses a newer version of the Unreal engine. The developers have also mentioned that you will be able to walk around and explore as you talk to people for a more immersive experience.
