Games
#1: Strange Horticulture
Strange Horticulture is my favorite game of 2022, and one of the best games I’ve ever played. It’s the perfect mix of cozy and mysterious, with a healthy dose of organizing thrown in. Read our review.
#2: Life is Strange: True Colors
While the game came out in 2021, it took me a year to post the review, so… here we are. Unsurprisingly, the latest installment in the Life is Strange franchise was phenomenal. And perhaps surprisingly, it may even be better than the original! Read our review.
#3: Stray
Stray gives us all the opportunity to wander an underground steampunk robot world as a cat, complete with puzzles, knocking things over for no reason, and napping when we should be saving the world. Read our review.
Books
We can’t keep up with writing reviews for all these books, so here are the highlights from 2022.
TV & MOvies
Bad Sisters is a series that makes you hate the antagonist and watch him almost die in each episode. You’ll spend the entire series waiting eagerly to find out not only who killed him, but how exactly he died.
Yellowjackets follows a high school soccer team that crashes in the wilderness, and how it affects them as adults back in society. Season 2 is due in March of this year!
Three Pines is a new series based on the novels by Louise Penny. The casting is excellent and if the books didn’t already make you want to move to Three Pines, this just might.
Only Murders in the Building returned with a second season of absurd and wonderful chaos. For all the murder, this is just a really fun show.
Blackbird follows the efforts of the FBI and an undercover informant to extract a confession from one of the creepiest serial killers we’ve ever seen.
The Patient explores the limitations of therapy when a serial killer hoping to reform kidnaps a therapist.
Magpie Murders is a new adaptation of the Anthony Horowitz novel by the same name.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window is a perhaps-too-ridiculous show that pokes fun at the latest trend in mystery/thriller/suspense novels and their inevitable movie adaptations.
