Since 2013, May 22nd (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's birthday) has been celebrated as International Sherlock Holmes Day. Since his creation, Sherlock Holmes has captivated audiences of all ages and from a variety of adaptations - books, graphic novels, theatre, film, television, and even videogames. This year, the creators of the BBC series Sherlock shared this video in honor of Sherlock Holmes Day. 

To celebrate the author and the great literary detective, Sassy Detective has launched a website dedicated entirely to Sherlock Holmes.  This website explores the personality of Holmes, the attraction to him by the first audiences, a variety of current adaptations, and even the social media presence of Doyle's characters compared to their representations in the Canon.
